Prieto Picudo from Matriarch and Rogue Cellar Door – Clare Valley, South Australia.
Prieto Picudo is a Spanish Variety common in the Leon Region, but quite uncommon in Australia.
Definitely a wine with body, it is not the shiraz shiraz, but it resembles the style. Immediately at the palate, this wine goes down pretty well. It has good acidity, and tannins are present and young.
Il Riesling Hand Picked di Rockfort è destinato ad un assaggio lungo e si apprezza molto in abbinamento con cibo che abbiano caratteristiche grasse, basse durezze e mineralità e media intensità’.

Zona di produzione a Nord di Adelaide. Piccola isola mantenuta verde nelle propaggini del boush sud Australiano. I vitigni allevati sono i soliti di questa zona. Riesling, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbech e Shiraz.Particolare interesse per il Riesling che nella sottozona Watervale evolve con maggiore complessità. Notare come qualche azienda si sia avventurata in un interessante semillon fermentato in botte. Peccato che per il momento le note di cherosene siano troppo intense e quindi i vini perdono in armonia e finezza. Due aziende mi hanno piacevolmente sorpreso. Tim Adams e Jeanneret Wines.
